Low Height Bus Jack Product Test

Check out the MTJ135-8 in the November/December 2005 issue of Commercial Vehicle Workshop.

Rob Cooper reports:-

Getting access to components on vehicles with low-slung chassis or ground-hugging bodywork can be difficult, even if you do have a pit lane. Standard bottle jacks can be too tall, because there is not enough space between ground and bodywork to slide a conventional jack in. As the name suggests, Majorlift's MTJ135-8 low-height bus jack is designed to overcome this problem.

When not in use, the L-shape jack looks like a scooter and you simply push it to move it around the workshop.

Once you have got it to the vehicle, you release a hinge and the jack opens flat. At this stage it's not much more than 6in deep - low enough to squeeze under most bodywork. To operate it, you attach it to a compressed air line and use the two-position handle to pump up the three-stage ram at one end of the jack. It is fast and easy.
